Between birthday parties, Boy Scouts Magic Month and Chinese New Year's celebrations, it's been a busy season. Due to the slowing economy the majority of bookings were referrals and repeat bookings. It was quite challenging trying to out do ourselves from previous years. I had to come up with new tricks to impress the same crowd. It was especially hard because the audience size was 500-1000 people in 3 of these celebrations. We had to do things that played bigger! Perhaps next year we'll have to do a few full sized illusions. Wish I had pictures of the crowds at these events. We did 2 shows at Washington High School with the bleachers completely packed out with people spilling out onto the gymnasium floor. For added flair, we added fire juggling and costume changes to really make it a visual show. I've got several more scouting events and Chinese New Years events still coming up and hope to post photos of those events.

Today will be the end of a very long and exhausting week, after two more performances for the Newark school district later today I will have completed an amazing 14 shows over the last seven days. Might be time to get a massage or see the chiropractor!

Yesterday we performed for the second time at Shoreline Ampitheather. This performance was for Bethel Church Celebrate America Musical. We enjoyed the free swag, petting zoo with camels and more, and even got a chance to take a free family photo on a green screen. We choose our background to be Hawaii!  After our performance we were treated to VIP box seats for the main concert. We ended up leaving after the first song in the concert. James was fine, I was cranky after 4 performances that day. In attendance were well over 8,000 people, and over a thousand at the children's stage. Although this was not our biggest crowd ever, it was tough crowd because of the large space. We ended up doing many of our routines to music, including our new Superman routine. On Friday my brother had his first child Matthew Chan. Congrats to Timothy and Emma!

Performing Magic at Shoreline

Next month I will be attending a juggling and magic convention in both Lexington and Louisville KY. My luck has it that both conventions are located 80 miles from each other and are timed right after each other. A costume change is also in the works so look out for many new and exciting things to be added to the show.
